Advice for suffragettes from India rebellion

Hello Suffragettes, this is a member of Sepoys from India. Sepoys were the East India Company’s private armies. There were large number of Sepoys and most of the Sepoys were Hindu and Muslim. As the rule of religion, the Hindu Sepoys can’t to eat beef and the Muslims can’t eat pork. It was prohibited to us but British tried to abolish our traditions and religion. One of the events was in 1857, British issued a new rifle. The problem was that to ease its passage down the gun barrel, each cartridge was heavily greased with beef or pork fat. This horrified the Hindu and Muslim Sepoys and we believed that British would violate our religion. And that made Sepoys start uprising. Angry Sepoys were really violent. We killed so many British men, Women, and Children. We killed hundreds of them by shooting and swordsmen hacked them. Out violent action enraged the British soldiers and they also became very violent. The British army forced us to lick the blood-covered floors and walls of the house where the women and children had been slaughtered. It was disgusting. I think it wasn’t a simple uprising. It was a terrible war. I don’t know how many people got killed by this. For about a year, All Indian had to live in a terror. In 1858, Sepoys lost the war because they killed one of the leaders of Sepoys’, and the other leader ran away. There were no leaders to lead Sepoys so we lost. But after the war, British started to respect us and the most importantly, they abolish the East India Company.
Even though they respect us and there is no more East Company, we are still British colony, and the damage which India got by this uprising is unbelievably huge. Sepoys got huge number of people but we still lost. Governments are smart and they have more power. Use of violence against government is not a good idea to achieve your goal. I hope you don’t make poor victims during your fighting.

  1. Hi, this is Emmeline Pankhurst from suffragettes. Don’t worry; I will not push my suffragettes to fight against the government like you did. I think we need violence to fight against the government but I don’t want to make any people to get killed or kill someone during the protest. We use violence to just express ourselves. You Indian rebellion and Suffragettes are different because you fought against the foreign government and we are fight against the government of our country. And my country’s government are afraid of people’s blame on them so they can’t do severe punish to us.
